Weba Chute Systems Partners with Toolquip Namibia to Enhance African Market Presence
Weba Chute Systems has appointed Toolquip Namibia, a subsidiary of Spain’s Grupo Silgest, as its official agent in Namibia. This strategic partnership aims to enhance service delivery in Namibia’s mining and industrial sectors by providing clients with expedited access to Weba’s custom-engineered transfer point solutions and comprehensive after-market support. Mining Review
Based in Swakopmund, Toolquip Namibia was selected after a rigorous evaluation process to ensure alignment in values, technical expertise, and adherence to quality management systems. Key criteria met by Toolquip Namibia include a robust presence in local mining and industrial markets, demonstrated project experience, extensive market reach, and the capability to provide robust sales and aftermarket support. Notably, the company complies with internationally recognized quality standards such as ISO 9001.
Weba Chute Systems is renowned for its innovative approach to chute design, focusing on improving throughput and operational safety. The appointment of a local agent in Namibia underscores the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality service and technical support directly where customers operate. A local partnership facilitates faster response times, more effective site assessments, and quicker implementation of engineered solutions.
Prior to this appointment, Weba Chute Systems supported its Namibian clients directly, often traversing the country’s expansive and remote terrains to maintain strong relationships and ensure equipment performance. This proactive approach led to successful installations of several transfer point solutions at Namdeb’s Southern Coastal Plant 3, including the CV1 Head Chute, the Tripper Car Discharge Chute, and the CV09 Split to Two Screens Chute. These installations replaced outdated, problem-prone chutes that suffered from frequent blockages, high wear, and limited maintenance access.
Utilizing advanced engineering technologies such as Discrete Element Modelling (DEM), Weba Chute Systems delivered fully engineered solutions that effectively addressed these issues and have been operating reliably since commissioning. These installations reflect the company’s ability to tailor solutions to meet specific site challenges and enhance overall plant performance.
With Toolquip Namibia now acting as the local agent, customers in the region will benefit from significantly improved access to technical support, spare parts, and maintenance services. Weba Chute Systems is providing Toolquip with extensive training on its technologies and chute design philosophy, ensuring their team is fully equipped to support customers effectively.
The presence of a local agent is particularly important in reducing reliance on cross-border technical support and shortening turnaround times, which is crucial for mining operations where downtime has significant cost implications. Weba Chute Systems’ close collaboration with Toolquip will ensure that Namibian customers have immediate access to diagnostics, engineered recommendations, and efficient aftermarket support.
This partnership is also expected to create new opportunities beyond Namibia. With Toolquip’s existing operations in Mauritania and Zambia, Weba Chute Systems anticipates further expansion into these regions, leveraging Toolquip’s local market knowledge and network.
