About
Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (Pvt) Ltd (ZCDC) is a state-owned diamond mining company wholly owned by the Government of Zimbabwe. Established in 2015 under the Companies Act following the government's consolidation of all diamond mining concessions in Chiadzwa (Marange), ZCDC is Zimbabwe's primary diamond producer and a member of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). ZCDC currently operates mining concessions in the Chiadzwa area of Manicaland Province and in Chimanimani, producing a product mix of gem, near-gem and boart diamonds. The company is conducting extensive exploration across Zimbabwe in search of economically viable kimberlite pipes, with advanced feasibility studies ongoing in five additional regions. ZCDC aims to reach 10 million carats of annual production and has invested in world-class processing technology including advanced CCTV surveillance, biometric access control and a multi-tier security architecture. ZCDC's head office is at 35-37 Cosham Avenue, Borrowdale, Harare. Its CEO is Mark Mabhudhu and its board chairman is Munashe Shava (also CEO of Great Dyke Investments and Kuvimba Mining House).
