Trust Merchant Bank S.A. (TMB) is the Democratic Republic of Congo's largest home-grown commercial bank and one of the country's most decorated financial institutions. Founded in 2004 as the first universal bank in the DRC, TMB has grown to serve over 1.3 million customers through an unrivalled branch network and digital banking infrastructure spanning all provinces of the country. As of December 2022, TMB held total assets in excess of USD 1.7 billion, representing approximately 12 percent of total bank assets in the DRC. TMB is the primary financial partner to the DRC's mining sector, providing corporate banking, trade finance, project finance and cash management services to mining operators, equipment suppliers and contractors across Katanga, Lualaba and the Kivus. The bank is a principal member of MasterCard and Visa, connected to the SWIFT interbank network, and holds 'Bank of the Year DRC' awards from The Banker, EMEA Finance, and Global Finance magazines for multiple consecutive years. In August 2022, KCB Group of Kenya agreed to acquire an 85 percent shareholding in TMB.
