Thungela Resources Limited is a leading pure-play producer and exporter of high-quality, low-cost thermal coal in South Africa, with a primary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE: TGA) and a standard listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: TGA). Thungela was listed as an independent company in June 2021 following a demerger from Anglo American's South African thermal coal operations — a portfolio with mining heritage stretching back to 1945. The company operates seven mines across the Mpumalanga coalfields, producing approximately 14 million export tonnes of coal per annum, which it exports through the Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) to power producers primarily in Asia and Europe.
