About
The Tanzania Chamber of Mines (TCM) is a voluntary private sector organisation established in November 1994 to represent the interests of mining and exploration companies operating in Tanzania. Governed under the Societies Ordinance of 1954, TCM is the unified voice of Tanzania's extractive industry and a registered member of the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA), the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), and the Tanzania Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (TEITI). The Chamber's membership includes all major large-scale gold, diamond, gemstone, graphite, coal, uranium and base metal mining companies operating in Tanzania, including Twiga Minerals Corporation (Barrick), Geita Gold Mining Ltd (AngloGold Ashanti), Shanta Gold, TRX Gold, Perseus Mining (Nyanzaga), Petra Diamonds (Williamson), Walkabout Resources (Lindi Jumbo), Black Rock Mining (Mahenge), and STAMICO. TCM advocates for a stable, investor-friendly regulatory environment, promotes responsible and sustainable mining practices, and provides a platform for networking, professional development and collective advocacy. Members submit applications via info@chamberofmines.or.tz.
