Sylvania Platinum Limited is a lower-cost producer of platinum group metals (PGMs) — platinum, palladium and rhodium — and chrome, listed on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market (AIM: SLP). The company's Sylvania Dump Operations (SDO) comprise six chrome beneficiation and PGM processing plants located at host mine-sites across the Bushveld Igneous Complex in South Africa, treating a combination of run-of-mine and historical chrome tailings materials. The SDO is the largest PGM producer from chrome tailings retreatment in the global industry. In FY2023, Sylvania entered the Thaba Joint Venture, adding a seventh chrome beneficiation and PGM processing plant treating ROM and historical chrome tailings from its JV partner. Sylvania also holds advanced-stage PGM exploration projects on the Northern Limb of the Bushveld Complex including Volspruit and the Aurora and Hacra projects. Sylvania's asset-light tailings retreatment model delivers low operating costs, a limited environmental footprint and high margins relative to conventional PGM mines.
