About
Orezone Corporation (TSX: ORE; ASX: ORE; OTCQX: ORZCF) is a Canadian gold producer operating the Bomboré Gold Mine in Burkina Faso — the second-largest gold deposit in the country, located 85 kilometres east of Ouagadougou on paved highway, offering excellent logistics and infrastructure access. Orezone holds a 90% interest in Bomboré (10% Government of Burkina Faso) and achieved commercial production from the oxide processing phase in December 2022. The mine is currently undergoing a major hard rock expansion: Phase 1 first gold from the new $80 million hard rock processing plant was poured in December 2025, and commercial production from combined oxide/hard rock operations was expected imminently in early 2026, set to increase total annual gold output by approximately 45%. Combined oxide and Phase 1 hard rock production is forecast at 170,000–185,000 ounces in 2026, rising to 220,000–250,000 ounces annually once Phase 2 is complete. Bomboré contains a 5.1 Moz Measured and Indicated mineral resource. Burkina Faso's government confirmed in September 2025 that it has 'no intention to purchase an equity interest' in Bomboré, providing clarity on the nationalization risk. West African Resources and Orezone have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to investigate operational synergies given their proximity (Bomboré and Sanbrado are 14 km apart). CEO is Patrick Downey. Orezone also recently acquired the Casa Berardi Gold Mine in Quebec, Canada.
