About
OCP Group (Office Chérifien des Phosphates) is the world's largest producer and exporter of phosphate and phosphate-based fertilizers, headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco. Founded by Royal Decree in 1920 and listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, OCP controls access to more than 70% of the world's known phosphate rock reserves and holds a 31% share of the global phosphate products market. In 2024, the Group generated revenues of approximately US$9.76 billion. OCP employs nearly 17,000 people across Morocco and operates an integrated value chain covering the full lifecycle from phosphate rock mining through chemical processing to fertilizer production and marketing. Mining operations are concentrated at four major sites: Khouribga (world's richest phosphate deposit, 43% of Morocco's reserves), Benguerir, Youssoufia, and Laâyoune (Boucraâ). Processing centres at Safi and Jorf Lasfar — the world's largest fertilizer complex — produce phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, and solid fertilizers (DAP, MAP, TSP, NPKs). A 187-kilometre gravity-powered slurry pipeline links Khouribga to Jorf Lasfar, saving over 3 million m³ of water per year. OCP exports phosphate products to more than 160 clients across five continents; Africa accounts for 21% of exports. Through OCP Africa (founded 2016), the Group operates in 12 African countries, distributing customised fertilizers and supporting soil health programmes with over 1 million smallholder farmers. OCP has set a target of carbon neutrality and is investing in green hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable energy to decarbonise its operations.
