About
Nouvelle Gabon Mining SA (NGM) is a Gabonese manganese ore mining and processing company co-owned by the Gabonese state and international investors. Founded in 2013, NGM entered production in 2017 and has grown to become Gabon's second-largest manganese producer. The company currently operates two production facilities at Franceville (Haut-Ogooué Province) and Okondja with a combined installed capacity of 2.4 million tonnes per annum of manganese ore, and exports lump and fine ore products through the port of Owendo near Libreville. NGM has recently acquired a greenfield project at Mounana — which will add a manganese alloy smelter incorporating four submerged electric arc furnaces (4 × 22.5 MVA capacity, to be installed in phases) producing ferro-manganese and silico-manganese — taking the company's total installed capacity to 3.2 million tonnes per annum and significantly adding downstream processing capability. The Mounana smelter is targeted for commissioning within 18 months from project initiation. NGM exports to steelmakers and alloy producers across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. CEO: Rana Singh.
