About
Lucara Diamond Corp (TSX: LUC; Nasdaq First North: LUC; BSE: LUC) is a Canadian diamond mining company and member of the Lundin Group of Companies, operating the 100%-owned Karowe diamond mine in Botswana's Central District. Karowe is one of the world's foremost producers of large, high-quality Type IIa diamonds — those prized for their exceptional clarity and size. Since production commenced in 2012, Karowe has recovered over 300 diamonds exceeding 100 carats, including the historic Lesedi La Rona (1,109 carats), the Sewelô (1,758 carats), and in August 2024 the Motswedi — at 2,492 carats, the second-largest gem-quality diamond ever discovered. Lucara is advancing an underground mine expansion at Karowe, supported by a US$350 million bond financing secured in March 2026, which will extend mine life to at least 2040 and provide access to the highest-value portion of the orebody. The Botswana workforce is 99% Batswana and approximately 27% female in leadership. Lucara is Responsible Jewellery Council certified and Kimberley Process compliant.
