About
Kodal Minerals plc (AIM: KOD) is a London AIM-quoted West African lithium producer and explorer, operating the Bougouni Lithium Project — Mali's second operating lithium mine — located approximately 170–180 kilometres south of Bamako in the Sikasso Region. Kodal acquired the Bougouni project in 2016 and secured a US$117.5 million funding package from China's Hainan Mining Group in November 2023, with Hainan Mining acquiring 51% of Kodal Mining UK Limited (KMUK), the Bougouni project company. The mine's Dense Media Separation (DMS) processing plant commenced production in February 2025, targeting 125,000 tonnes per annum of lithium spodumene concentrate. 100% of Bougouni's concentrate is sold to Hainan Mining under a binding offtake agreement for onward shipping to China. The Bougouni Lithium Project was officially opened by Mali's President General Assimi Goïta in November 2025. Kodal also holds a diversified portfolio of gold exploration projects in Mali and Côte d'Ivoire. The company is headquartered at Prince Frederick House, 35-39 Maddox Street, London.
