About
La Chambre des Mines de Guinée (CMG) is the national employers' union of the Guinean private mining sector, established on 30 April 1997 as a non-profit association under Guinean law. The Chamber represents approximately 50 member companies from the full spectrum of Guinea's mining industry — including bauxite, iron ore, gold, and diamonds — serving as the principal interface between private mining operators and the Government of Guinea. CMG's mandate includes the promotion and defence of member interests, advocacy on mining legislation and policy, coordination on fiscal and regulatory frameworks, and the promotion of Guinea as an investment destination. Key member companies include Société Minière de Boké (SMB), Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG), SimFer (Rio Tinto), Winning Consortium Simandou (WCS), and Predictive Discovery (PDI), among others. The current President of the Chambre des Mines de Guinée is Ismaël Diakité, who also serves as High Representative of the SMB-Winning Consortium and previously worked for Rio Tinto for 10 years as General Manager for Guinea and Director on the Simandou Board. Headquartered at the 4th Floor, Immeuble Labé, Cité Chemin de Fer, Conakry.
