About
La Chambre des Mines de Côte d'Ivoire (CMCI) represents mining companies operating in Côte d'Ivoire, one of West Africa's fastest-growing mining jurisdictions and now the region's third-largest gold producer. The Chamber engages with the Ministère des Mines, du Pétrole et de l'Énergie on mining code, royalties, and licensing frameworks. Key members include Endeavour Mining (Ity, Agbaou, Bonikro — Côte d'Ivoire is Endeavour's largest country by production), Allied Gold (Bonikro/Agbaou acquired 2021), Newcrest-backed and Barrick-adjacent junior explorers, Perseus Mining (Sissingué), and a growing cohort of junior explorers attracted by the highly prospective Birimian Greenstone Belt. Côte d'Ivoire's gold output has grown rapidly under the stable government of President Ouattara, with the 2014 Mining Code (revised 2019) providing competitive fiscal terms. The Chamber also advocates for responsible artisanal and small-scale mining formalisation. The CMCI was among the attendees at Mining Indaba 2025 and is a member of the Africa Mining Vision framework.
