About
The Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe (COMZ) is a private sector voluntary organisation established in 1939 by an Act of Parliament, representing companies and individuals involved in mining, mineral exploration and processing across Zimbabwe. Based at 20 Mount Pleasant Drive in Harare, COMZ is the principal advocacy body for Zimbabwe's mining industry, which contributes approximately 14.5% of national GDP, accounts for 75% of national exports and generated US$5.9 billion in mineral exports in 2024. The Chamber's membership spans all major mining houses including Zimplats, Mimosa, Unki Mines, Caledonia Mining, Hwange Colliery, ZCDC, RioZim and others, as well as suppliers, service providers, banks and consulting engineers. COMZ represents the industry in engagements with government on policy, legislation, taxation and regulation, promotes safe and responsible mining practices, and publishes the authoritative annual Mining Industry Review. COMZ hosts the Zimbabwe Annual Mining Conference and Exhibition, the National Mine Rescue Competition and the National First Aid Competition. Zimbabwe's Chamber of Mines projects mineral exports to grow to US$6.2 billion in 2025.
