About
Black Rock Mining Limited (ASX: BKT) is an ASX-listed graphite mining company developing the Mahenge Graphite Project — one of the world's largest and highest-grade JORC-compliant flake graphite resources — located in Tanzania's Morogoro Region. The project hosts a defined resource of 213 million tonnes at 7.8% total graphite content (TGC) and a proven reserve of 70 million tonnes at 8.5% TGC, with a projected mine life of 26 years at full production. Black Rock's Enhanced Definitive Feasibility Study outlines a four-stage construction schedule targeting 347,000 tonnes per year of ultra-purity flake graphite concentrate at up to 99% LOI purity — positioning it to be a globally significant supplier of battery-grade graphite for the electric vehicle supply chain. The project officially commenced early works in 2025, supported by US$153 million in debt approvals and a strategic partnership with POSCO, the world's largest ex-China anode producer. Mahenge will create over 400 jobs during Phase 1. Black Rock Mining is headquartered in West Perth, Australia. The company operates through its Tanzanian subsidiary Faru Graphite Corporation Limited (Faru), with local offices at Mahenge, Ulanga.
