About
Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited (BNC) is Zimbabwe's largest nickel mining company, listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE: BIND) and the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), and a member of Kuvimba Mining House — the state-owned diversified mining investment company. Established in 1966 by Anglo American Corporation and headquartered at No. 1 Trojan Mine Road in Bindura, BNC operates the Trojan Nickel Mine and Shangani Mine in Zimbabwe's Mashonaland Central Province, and owns a smelter and refinery complex in Bindura. BNC's collective mineral resource base stands at approximately 72.5 million tonnes of ore at an average grade of 0.60%, containing approximately 434,800 tonnes of nickel across its Trojan, Shangani and Hunters Road assets. The company's major product is nickel concentrate (nickel sulphide), used primarily in the production of stainless steel and increasingly sought after for electric vehicle batteries. BNC also has the Hunters Road Project — a large undeveloped nickel asset — which represents significant future production potential. BNC employs approximately 1,100 permanent and contract personnel and received the 2022 Zimbabwe Independent Quoted Companies Survey Sustainability Governance Cluster Award for financial information disclosure.
