Barloworld Equipment is the sole authorised Caterpillar (CAT) earthmoving and mining equipment dealer across eleven countries in Southern Africa, backed by JSE-listed Barloworld Limited (BAW). With a heritage stretching back to 1927 when Barloworld secured the first South African Caterpillar dealership, the company is the largest CAT dealer in Africa and one of the largest in the world by territory. Barloworld Equipment supplies, rents and maintains the full range of CAT surface and underground mining equipment — including large hydraulic excavators, ultra-class haul trucks, motor graders, dozers, wheel loaders and drills — to the region's coal, iron ore, platinum, gold, chrome and copper mining sectors. The company operates the largest Caterpillar Rebuild Centre in the global CAT dealer network in Boksburg, Gauteng, and runs dedicated Equipment Monitoring Centres for remote fleet management across Southern Africa. Barloworld Equipment's operations span South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland and a DRC joint venture.
