About
Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (TSX: AYA; Nasdaq: AYA; OTCQX: AYASF) is a Canadian-based, Morocco-anchored precious metals company and Africa's pre-eminent pure-play silver producer. Aya operates the high-grade Zgounder Silver Mine — an underground silver mine approximately 265 kilometres east of Agadir in the Anti-Atlas mountain range — which declared commercial production in December 2024 following a US$140 million mill expansion project that tripled annual capacity to approximately 8 million ounces of silver. In 2024, Morocco produced 8.6 million ounces of silver, making it Africa's largest silver producer; Aya accounts for the majority of that output. In addition to Zgounder, Aya holds 85% of the Boumadine polymetallic project (64.7 Moz Ag, 1.98 Moz Au, 546kt Zn in inferred resources) in Er Rachidia Province, and multiple exploration permits across the prolific South Atlas Fault. Aya listed on Nasdaq in May 2026, adding to its TSX listing, with the objective of broadening its institutional investor base. The company employs over 600 full-time workers in Morocco, has invested approximately US$250 million in the country since inception, and holds rights to the only private foreign-operated silver mine in Morocco. CEO is Benoit La Salle. Aya is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, and was ranked Morocco the most attractive mining jurisdiction in Africa by the Fraser Institute (2024).
