About
Asante Gold Corporation is a mid-tier gold producer listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV: ASE), the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE: ASG) and the OTCQX, with a portfolio of operating mines and exploration projects on Ghana's prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante operates two gold mines: the Bibiani Gold Mine and the Chirano Gold Mine, both located in the Western North Region of Ghana. Bibiani, an open pit operation with previous production of over 4.5 million ounces, was acquired from Kinross Gold and restarted in 2022, with commercial production declared in November 2022. Chirano is an open pit and underground mine acquired from Kinross in 2022, with a carbon-in-leach plant. Together the two mines target combined production of approximately 400,000 ounces of gold annually, making Asante one of Ghana's major gold producers. Asante also has the Kubi Gold Project under development and multiple exploration licences on the Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. The company employs approximately 4,000 people across its operations, with Ghanaians making up the large majority of its workforce.
